UFC on Fox 2 is this Saturday and looks like it should be a great event. The action will be coming to you live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. There are only three fights on the main card that will be aired on Fox at 8PM. The preliminary card will start at 4PM this Saturday and you can watch all of the prelim fights on Fuel TV. Last weekend we went 4-0 with our picks and this weekend we’re going to look to go perfect on the 3 main card fights.
UFC on Fox 2 Main Event Odds & Predictions
Phil Davis +160 vs. Rashad Evans -185
Phil Davis (9-0) is coming into this fight undefeated with victories over fighters like Brian Stann, Alexander Gustafsson, Tim Boetsch and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Davis has been moving up the chain in the light heavyweight division, but Evans is going to be Phil’s toughest fight in his career. Rashad Evans (16-1-1) will get a shot at Jon Jones if he beats Davis and doesn’t suffer an injury. With so much on the line for Evans in this fight I think he’ll be extremely focused on the fight and I’m laying the juice on him.
UFC on Fox 2 Main Card Odds & Predictions
Michael Bisping +380 vs. Chael Sonnen -475
Chael Sonnen (26-11-1) bounced back last year with a win over Brian Stann after losing to Silva in 2010. Sonnen is getting a quick start to 2012 and will take on Michael Bisping (22-3). Munoz was supposed to fight Sonnen, but he’s hurt right now. Bisping will get a chance to fight Sonnen with the winner likely getting a title shot against Silva. Bisping is on a 4-fight win streak, but I don’t think he’ll be able to keep up with the wrestling of Sonnen. Once this fight gets taken to the ground Sonnen should be able to control the fight and defeat Bisping fairly easily.
Demian Maia +125 vs. Chris Weidman -145
Demian Maia (15-3) was supposed to fight Bisping, but he’s fighting Sonnen now and therefore Chris Weidman (7-0) decided to take the fight on short notice. The bookies have Weidman as a favourite, but unless they know something I don’t know I’m confused as to why he’s the favourite. Maia has defeated some great fighters in the past couple years including Chael Sonnen and Dan Miller. Maia did lose to Munoz last year, but I think he’ll be able to beat Weidman. This fight is my underdog special pick and I feel strongly that the bookies have the wrong fighter favoured in this fight.
UFC on FX 1 will be aired live on Fuel TV and FX on Saturday starting at 6PM. The main card doesn’t start until 9PM and the card has a couple fights that look exciting. The card isn’t stacked like a pay-per-view card, but the main event should be interesting between two veteran fighters. Check out our free Predictions below for UFC on FX 1 and let us know who you’re betting on this weekend.
UFC on FX 1 Main Event Odds & Predictions
Jim Miller -170 vs. Melvin Guillard +150
Jim Miller (20-3) and Melvin Guillard (29-9-2) should be the best fight on the main card at UFC on FX 1. Miller and Guillard both need to pick up a victory and I think Miller win end up winning. Miller is a good grappler and has decent submission skills, which should be enough to get Miller a win by submission. Guillard can beat Miller if he connects with a powerful punch, but that’s about the only way I see Guillard hanging with Miller this weekend.
UFC on FX 1 Main Card Odds & Predictions
Duane Ludwig -110 vs. Josh Neer -110
When the odds were released Duane Ludwig (21-11) was about a -150 favourite, but the odds have come down and now the odds are at a coin flip. Early money has come in on Neer and I’d bet him now if you were thinking about it. Neer and Ludwig will spend some time banging in the cage, but Neer needs to try and get a takedown to work his submission game. Neer should come out of this fight victorious in my opinion.
Pat Barry -165 vs. Christian Morecraft +145
This fight doesn’t excite me much, as both fighters haven’t impressed me. Pat Barry (6-4) and Christian Morecraft (7-2) are two more fighters that need a win, but I think Barry needs a win much more. Barry may be on his way out of the UFC with a loss this weekend against Morecraft and he should be hungry. I’ll take a shot on Barry this weekend because I think he’ll be able to handle Morecraft without ease in the stand-up game as long as he can prevent takedowns.
Mike Easton -340 vs. Jared Papazian +280
This should be the easiest fight to predict on the main card at UFC on FX 1. Mike Easton (11-1) and Jared Papazian (14-6) will be starting off the main card this Saturday. Easton should be able to make quick work of Papazian. This will be Jared’s 1st fight in the UFC and Easton’s 2nd fight in the UFC. Easton is just a better overall fighter and should have no problem defeating Papazian, but at the same time I’ve seen bigger upsets in the UFC.
